San Lorenzo Avenue

A 2/1 Berkeley bungalow becomes a modern, 2-story, 4-bedroom, 2-bath home for a growing family determined to stay in their community. This was a complete gut remodel, including a new foundation and completely new electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Custom finishes and fantastic tile were fun to work with and make this house even more spectacular.

This thoughtfully executed home remodel includes a 900-square-foot addition to the rear of the house, seamlessly expanding the living space while honoring the home's original Craftsman character. The addition features a spacious new master suite, a convenient half bath off the hall, and a dedicated music studio—each designed with acoustic performance in mind. From the initial planning stages, sound transfer was carefully considered to ensure both privacy and optimal function across the new spaces.

The kitchen underwent a full remodel, blending modern functionality with classic Craftsman details. Custom cabinetry, period-appropriate trim, and carefully chosen finishes were selected to echo the home's original charm. Finish carpentry throughout the addition was meticulously matched to the existing structure, resulting in a cohesive, unified look that respects the home's architectural heritage while enhancing its comfort and livability.
